Wyley Simpson and his boyfriend Stephan Gaeth, 27, document the story of their accidental pregnancy on We TV reality series Extreme Love. He was transitioning from female to male when he became pregnant. The San Antonio-based couple incorrectly believed they wouldn't be able to conceive a child because Wyley has been taking testosterone since 2012. Wyley admits that he is nervous to give birth in a Texas hospital, explaining he wants to be called the proper pronoun and treated with respect Wyley and Stephan explain in the show that they thought about giving their baby up for adoption; they later reconsidered and named their son Rowan Fox 'I'm probably the only transgender male that's pregnant, probably, in Texas,' Wyley explains in a teaser clip. 'How would I be treated as a transgender individual in the hospital?' 'Okay, this is not something you're going to see every day, a man going through birth,' he says, 'but, at the same time, we're still humans and [I want people] to know to call us by our correct pronouns and to respect us.' He started testosterone in 2012 and got top surgery in 2013. However, he has yet to have bottom surgery, an operation to create a penis. Stephan says they questioned whether Wyley could get pregnant, but they both believed he couldn't conceive a child because he was taking testosterone. 'We talked about testosterone and what he had been told by his doctors and what we had believed to be truth. Turns out, that wasn't truth,' The couple, who live in a converted bus in their friend's backyard, explain in the show that they considered giving the baby up for adoption, with Stephen admitting: 'As a gay person, I don't think I ever really planned for biological children.' The baby was just born and they are back in the converted bus in their friends backyard. I hope the child has not been impacted by the years of hormone treatment it's mother has undertaken.
