US rapper Wiz Khalifa has been sentenced to nine months in prison in Romania for drug possession, according to court documents. The judgment requires the artist to serve the sentence in the country. He will be declared a fugitive if he does not report to police within seven days of the ruling becoming final.

„Brief ruling: Decision no. 1222.
Pursuant to Article 421 point 2 letter a of the Criminal Procedure Code, the court admits the appeal filed by D.I.I.C.O.T. – Constanța Territorial Service against Criminal Sentence no. 269 of 24 April 2025, delivered by the Constanța Tribunal in criminal case no. 7777/118/2024, partially overturns the challenged criminal sentence and, upon retrial, rules as follows: Pursuant to Article 4 paragraph 1 of Law no. 143/2000, in conjunction with Article 396 paragraphs 1, 2 and 10 of the Criminal Procedure Code, convicts the defendant THOMAZ CAMERON JIBRIL to a sentence of 9 months’ imprisonment for committing the offense of unlawful possession of risk drugs for personal use. Pursuant to Article 60 of the Criminal Code, orders the execution of the 9-month prison sentence in detention. Maintains the remaining provisions of the appealed criminal sentence insofar as they do not conflict with the present decision. Pursuant to Article 275 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the judicial costs advanced by the State in the appeal proceedings shall remain borne by the State. Final.
